Transfer to Newsbook

Domain registered with Network Solutions

Time required: can take 2 - 7 working days or more depending on the complexity involved

Charges: Nil

Steps :

1. Sign up the Order Form and choose "exist domain" during the domain name check.
   
2. When the server settings are done, Newsbook will inform Network Solutions about the transfer.
   
3. Network Solutions will send an e-mail to the existing administrative/tech/billing contact to confirm the transfer in about 1 working day. The administrative contact should reply the e-mail in a proper way according to the instructions given in the notification e-mail.
   
4. Please inform us immediately if such notification is not received, such as if the administrative e-mail is no longer working. We will arrange a modification by fax that will normally take another 5 working days.

Down Time Considerations:

Down time can be avoided by duplicating your existing website settings (including e-mail settings) at our servers before the domain transfer is successful.

Domain registered with Register.com (.com, .net. or .org)

Time required: depends on how quickly you change the name server settings at register.com

Charges: Nil

Steps :

1. Sign up a Order Form and choose "exist domain" during the domain name check.
2. Login to the Domain Manager of register.com. Change the name server settings to:

    

   In example : 

   Primary name server host name: ns31.newsbook.net IP:202.85.164.38(please confirm with newsbook staff)
   Secondary name server host name: ns11.newsbook.net IP:202.85.153.181(please confirm with newsbook staff)

3. After you have submitted those changes, register.com will send the administrative contact an email for confirmation. Please click the hyperlink of that email to confirm.
   
4. The domain will work with Newsbook's system in 24 - 48 hours after confirmation.

Transferring a .hk name (.com.hk, .net.hk, .org.hk, .edu.hk)

Time required: approximately 7 working days

Charges: Free of handling fee by Newsbook. HKDNR will charge the domain owner HK$200 if the domain is belong to old contract(this fee can be paid to Newsbook and then Newsbook will pay to HKNIC on behalf of our client).

Steps:

1. Sign up a Order Form and choose "exist domain" during the domain name check.
   
2. When the server settings are done, Newsbook will inform HKDN about the transfer.
   
3. With in 2 working days, HKDNR will make an announcement to existing contacts (administrative, technical and billing). The domain will be transferred to newsbook successfully in another 5-7 working days unless HKDNR receive objection existing contacts.

Down Time Considerations:

Down time can be avoided by duplicating your existing website settings (including e-mail settings) at our servers before the domain transfer is successful. Please do not stop your existing hosting service until the modification is completed.

Domain registered with other registries

Domains registered under other registries normally transfer in a way similar to that of reigster.com. If problem arises during the transfer, let us know promptly so that we can study and solve it. Please send to info@newsbook.net.
